Do you have questions about heaven? Many people do! Our ministry is all about finding Biblical answers to those questions. This week's questions is from a reader in England, and it's about our bodies in heaven.

Exploring Life in Heaven

Do you wonder what our bodies will be like in heaven?

Our bodies can give us such trouble now, can’t they? Sickness, disease, weight issues.

It can be very difficult now!

Although we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we long for something better…

For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened the Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:4.

Many of us groan inwardly with the difficulties and pains of this mortal life. Especially when we get to a certain age. All kinds of problems begin to happen.

The good news is that these aches and pains are only temporary! There is something better!

1 Corinthians 15:40 tells us there are heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies. On earth we have earthly bodies made for our lives on earth. When we go to heaven, we leave our earthly body and take on our heavenly body. Those bodies will be made for our lives in heaven.

That means that we have the guarantee that one day, our bodies will be…!!!

…weightless, painless, instantly responsive, comfortable, and totally peaceful.

Here is a poem a dear friend of mine discovered. It puts things into perspective as we go through the trials of our lives.

God’s Purpose in Difficult Times

There is nothing, no circumstance, no trouble, no testing,
that can even touch me until, first of all,
it has gone past God and Christ, right through to me.

If it has come that far,
it has come with a great purpose
which I may not understand at the moment.

But as I refuse to become panicky,
as I lift up my eyes to him and accept it
as coming from the throne of God
for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart,
no sorrow will ever disturb me,
no trial will ever disarm me,
no circumstance will cause me to fret,
for I shall rest in the joy of what my Lord is!
